Exit Clearance

Exit Clearance is the formal process of completing all required checks, approvals, document handovers, asset returns, financial settlements, and administrative activities when an employee leaves an organization. It ensures that outstanding responsibilities are reviewed and cleared before the employee's separation is completed.

In an HRMS, Exit Clearance helps HR manage separation-related activities through a structured workflow. It can include department clearance, asset return, document verification, pending dues, advances or loans, access deactivation, attendance and leave verification, manager approvals, and other organization-specific exit requirements.

An effective Exit Clearance process improves employee separation management, accountability, record accuracy, asset recovery, payroll processing, and operational control. HR teams can track pending clearance tasks, identify responsible departments, maintain approval records, and ensure that required activities are completed before final separation processing.

In CLMS (Contract Labour Management System), Exit Clearance can be used when contract workers are released from a site or assignment. It may cover worker attendance verification, asset or equipment return, contractor confirmation, pending payments, documentation, site access closure, and other workforce clearance requirements.
